If you want to win that game...
... you have to hit a shot. Simple as that.
Of the 12 coaches, Rush picked the one whose fans have the deepest passion, the longest memories, the greatest lung capacity and … did I mention deep passion?
Re: If you want to win that game...
Or pass the ball.
Re: If you want to win that game...
Or rebound the ball. Or hit free throws. Or not turn the ball over. Basically we played like a scared high school team.
i was going to put the ua/asu records here...but i forgot what they were.
i'll just go with fuck asu.

Re: If you want to win that game...
what an awful way to end the CY / transition into conference play. hope our guys use the break time to get their heads back in it
Re: If you want to win that game...
Try hitting a FT first
Re: If you want to win that game...
or hit free throws

For real. The free throw shooting is inexcusable.cats101 wrote:Try hitting a FT first

Asu will be ready
Re: If you want to win that game...
I'm not that mad about the loss. It was coming sooner or later and no way we could stay undefeated OOC next year.
But allowing UN FUCKING LV to score 71 points? Inexcusable. The Cats and Sean have a lot to think about and work on after Christmas break.

I don't think anyone would have predicted that we would be a worse FT shooting team this year but it's coming to fruitionUAGreg wrote:For real. The free throw shooting is inexcusable.cats101 wrote:Try hitting a FT first

Re: If you want to win that game...
Outrebounded by 13
Can't shoot FT's (missed 11, shot less than 60%)
SJ with 7 turnovers - not ready for NBA until he gets his head out of his butt
Stupid fouls on Tarc and RHJ
No effort until last 3 minutes, then couldn't hit a shot
Rondae - where the hell have you been?
Deserved to lose. This will actually help us because we won't get far in the tourney unless we play like a team.
I'd also make everyone shoot 60 minutes of FTs evry day.
This game also shows how thin our bench is against athletic team. Pitts, Ristic, PJC nada

Re: If you want to win that game...
This was all free throws.
Re: If you want to win that game...
I mean if Ashley can even get a single stop on defense we probably win.
We might as well have been playing 5 on 4.
I knew he was slow laterally, but man I've never seen him get completely worked like that.

Re: If you want to win that game...
Bad shooting, bad rebounding, selfish play, missed free throws, yeah. No wins are to become of that.
Re: If you want to win that game...
Maybe we should concentrate in practice on an Offense.

Re: If you want to win that game...
After having our asses handed to us all game long, we decided to thoroughly bonehead the final three possessions where we had somehow still had a chance to win it.
That's what you get for going bonehead so many times on defense that your coach runs out of timeouts.

And with all that, we still had a chance to win at the end . . . except we couldn't hit a shot.

It's amazing how we sucked in every aspect of the game tonight.

That tells me we have a ways to go as a team. Nobody wants to do the dirty work. Everyone incl Rondae trying to get his. F this. HOrrible.

14-7 offensive boards
That and the turnovers was the game.
Re: If you want to win that game...
That all goes back to effort. Mentally, nobody earned their scholarship tonight. No one wanting to play to win in this joke of a game.

Erlich Bachmann: Richard wrote the code, yes, but the inspiration was clear. Let me ask you something. How fast do you think you could jack off every guy in this room? Cause I know how long it would take me. And I could prove it.

Held them to 46 rebounds. What more could you ask for?

I was so sure that deep bench of the Cat's would be the difference.

Re: If you want to win that game...
I saw little positives in the 1st half, and nothing positive in the second. The one thing I know is that this team is not yet mentally tough yet, and allowed a much less talented team to take them out of the game. In essence, the lack of commitment to defense for large portions of this game caused the loss. I can't remember seeing so many easy shots in the lane, or put backs on missed shots. It was a collapse by nearly every player on the floor defensively, and then a rush to make up for it on the other end. If this team doesn't defend consistently it loses.
Lousy calls loom larger when you play lousy. I'm glad this game was in December.

Re: If you want to win that game...
I don't see RHJ getting taken out of too many more games by calls that are that poor. But Miller and staff need to do everything in their power to ensure that he's on the court as many minutes as his quick, long, and sure limbs can handle.Olsondogg wrote:I saw little positives in the 1st half, and nothing positive in the second. Re: If you want to win that game...
Our play on both ends of the court left plenty to be desired... But those 2 kids for UNLV made several really tough shots. Credit them for that at least...

Re: If you want to win that game...
SJ probably hasn't missed a layup since he was a child. That was unreal. In the last minute; AZ had the chance to take the lead 2-3 times; one missed layup by a future lottery pick, an in-and-out three pointer that likely was the result of a goal-tend, and a turn over with a few seconds remaining that could have lead to the final shot. It was a terrible game, terrible officiating (RHJ, one of the nation's best defenders fouls out with 7 minutes to go?), and a terrible last minute. This sort of thing happens to most good teams from time to time. Time to leave it behind.Chicat wrote:... you have to hit a shot. Simple as that.
