ACC schools are 1-7 in home games immediately following trips to play Cal and Stanford.
I should note though that Duke & Clemson don’t make the west coast trip and Louisville won’t until the last week.

Almost like having schools in your conference on the other side of the country is a dumb idea or something.

That's an up vote.

Arizona State might have the most surprisingly anemic history in men's basketball of any program that you might think is better than it is.

Looks like our other old conference may be dead soon.

I bet that bus wasn't in any of those three categories. Wonder where diesels rank.

I knew that completely thanks to you, and it's worth knowing. I'm just willing to use any anecdote whatsoever to bust Elon's balls. I have 2 plug-in hybrids, but it's not like I would want any hypothetical child of mine to grow up using a Toyota CEO as a role model.

I'm also on fire and EMS here, never fought a hybrid fire, but we've been trained a few times on them and they can be really bad.

Holy shit Arkansas losing by over 30 to South Carolina, only made 3 FGs in the 1st half
Re: Non-Big XII Thread
Anyone watching the series Pitino: Red Storm rising? Showed when he was playing teams arch rival in the Euro league. He said it made Louisville/Kentucky look like a tea party. Had 20,000 fans, 30 cops with shields and six machine guns. That was interesting. Game was intense.
Then it followed a bit of St. John's "benefactor" and talked NIL. The teams benefactor is a billionaire who grew up watching them play and wanted a winner. The was eye opening also. Pretty good serious with some intense Pitino minutes.

Dang WCC.
Key stats
The teams combined to shoot 1 of 31 on 3-pointers, the third-worst combined percentage in any game over the past 20 years. Saint Mary’s went 0 for 16.

Cooper Flagg injured his ankle and had to be helped back to the locker room.
Duke down at the half vs. Georgia Tech. Their 3-point shooting today makes Arizona’s look good by comparison.

I’d much rather see Duke be the first 1-seed to lose this year than to see them lose early in a horrific ACC and get bumped to a 2-seed.Merkin wrote: Thu Mar 13, 2025 10:17 am There are rules! This isn't Nam.

What a massive choke. Did they go into some sort of prevent offense? Just change whatever has been working for 3/4 for the game and do something completely different?

Wisky made 19 3 pointers v. UCLA.
Don't even put them in the same bracket as Arizona.

Re: Non-Big XII Thread
Cronin at ucla means they're not really going to emerge as any kind of regional or national power any time soon. He inherited an incredible roster from Alford, somehow got to a FF (because Juzang's shooting got hotter than it's ever been previously or since), and now he's been squandering talented rosters ever since. Their recruiting is abysmal, and yet, they're somehow stoked on Cronin. Gotta love it.
Re: Non-Big XII Thread
i agree with this except for possibly the part about inheriting an incredible roster from alford. what'd he leave behind? his 2018-19 recruiting class was lukewarm at best and ucla had zero players who were all-americans, on the all pac-12 first team, or recipient of any conference honors. jaylen hands was the only guy who made pac-12 player of the week that season. the bruins had a lot of guys returning for 2019-20 and pulled jaquez, 'reef, and tyger but that recruiting class was ranked 72nd at best, and at worst unranked. going into the season ucla had zero players on any of the preseason watchlists or on the all-pac first or second teams, and were picked to finish 8th in the conference.Beachcat97 wrote: Fri Mar 14, 2025 2:22 pm Cronin at ucla means they're not really going to emerge as any kind of regional or national power any time soon. i'm not a fan of cronin by any means and like to think he got a little lucky with jaquez and juzang (plus the all the drama going down in arizona around that time) - i just think alford sucked way more, didn't exactly leave ucla basketball in turnkey conditions when he left, and was equally unlikeable. i guess it also helps that mick doesn't have a mini-cronin to piss us off. man, i did not like bryce alford.
