What is impressive is 2 of the 3 series were against the Rangers and Dodgers. They would be 8-3 if they didn't blow an 8-0 lead in the first game against the Padres.CatsbyAZ wrote: Wed Apr 10, 2024 8:27 am Down the street to last night Padres game. Vs Cubs.
Cub 5 - Padres 1.
Chicago off to a 7-4 start.

Re: Cubs
Padres fans would like to thank you for our first series win of the season.

Re: Cubs
I am really excited for the Cubs team this season. I believe they have the best offense in baseball. 3rd in HRs right now and 1st in stolen bases. They are the best team in runs per game. And they can hit throughout the lineup. Kyle Tucker is having an MVP season. And Pete Crow-Armstrong in CF is incredible in his rookie season. You can see the changes in his stance at the plate. He is tied for leading the league in SB with 12. He is an elite CF who could win a gold glove. And he is showing power. PCA has the "it" factor. Fun to watch. He should win rookie of the year.
There is a problem with pitching. Justin Steele is out for the year with elbow surgery on April 18. Javier Hassad is out for awhile. But right now they are holding on.
The NL central isn't that good and the Cubs stand out. They have had only one series agaisnt a sub-500 team (Athletics). They won the series with the Dodgers this season (after starting 0-2 in Tokyo).
The fans at Wrigley are realizing this team is special. This season is going to be fun to watch. I just hope the Cubs can find a way to sign Tucker to a long-term contract, and to let PCA know he is valued. Both are a fan favorite.
