Oregon junior defensive lineman Arik Armstead will forgo his senior year and enter the NFL draft.
"After three years preparing with my teammates and coaches, I feel I'm ready to test myself at the next level," Armstead said in a university news release. "All the support I've received from Coach [Don] Pellum and Coach [Ron] Aiken, the rest of the Oregon coaches and staff and in my academics has prepared me to make this jump."
Amstead started 13 games for the Ducks and finished the 2014 season with 46 tackles including 5.5 for a loss, 2.5 sacks and six quarterback hurries.
The junior's athleticism is going to be intriguing to scouts as he was a dual-sport athlete at Oregon prior to this football season, playing both basketball and football.
Armstead has been projected as a first-round pick by some NFL general managers.
