Prediction: Calipari to Cleveland in 2015

Post by Bosy Billups »

It's the perfect storm. Just barely into the season, there are already rumors and whispers that the HC of Cleveland is not getting along with the owners, that the players don't respect him as much as the assistant coaches, and some other junk. Plus, they aren't dominating like expected (which is perfectly understandable, new team, new coach, etc.). But here's the reality

Cleveland offered Calipari the job BEFORE they knew about Lebron and Love.

Calipari has a chance to leave Kentucky with one of the best squads (that loses to Arizona in the championships ;)

Calipari and Lebron are friends.

Repeat, the job was offered to Calipari last year.

Calipari has a chance to be the head coach of a dynasty in Cleveland.

How does this not happen?

Let's get ready for the Brad Stevens, Sean Miller, Gregg Marshall to UK storm. Prepare yourself, that's all.

The Cavs "absolutely discussed" firing coach David Blatt internally, according to the Akron Beacon-Journal.
The report states that Blatt is on firm ground now, but he was in hot water prior. It's been a media onslaught against Blatt and the Cavs, so file this one in the preexisting pile. The Cavs front office has come out in strong support of Blatt, and the Cavs have won their last two games. The only way the noise will go away is if Cleveland continues to win.

Missed this then.

The contract is stupid. But it will take stupid to pry him from Kentucky.

As for his Pro prospects, not enough of a tactician. He'd have success with supreme talent, but before mid-point of that contract the Cavs would regret it.
