Re: World Cup 2014
You knew it was bound to happen. Holland was threatening most of the second half.
Re: World Cup 2014
Now it's getting interesting ........ 1 - 1
Re: World Cup 2014
Damn I had a couple things I wanted to get done between this game and the Costa Rica game. Oh well...

Re: World Cup 2014
This loss is heart breaking for Mexico. Less than 10 minutes left they had the lead.
Re: World Cup 2014
Another great World Cup game ....... loving it
Re: World Cup 2014
Boy, what a tough loss.
Re: World Cup 2014
Man, I hope we (USA) don't go down like that...that was brutal
Re: World Cup 2014

Re: World Cup 2014
Another heart breaker in play. Costa Rica gives up the tieing goal in extra time. I hope this isn't the fate of all the Concacef teams in the knock-out round. We got ours out of the way against Portugal.
Re: World Cup 2014
Great win for Costa Rica and CONCAF. Netherlands could be upset by Costa Rica if they play like they did against Mexico.

Re: World Cup 2014
France looked pretty good. They're going to have a very interesting game against Ger...I mean, against the Germany/Algeria winner.
Re: World Cup 2014
Great news for the U.S.
Not realistic that he starts, but he might come in as a sub.
http://www.espnfc.us/fifa-world-cup/sto ... vs-belgiumSALVADOR, Brazil -- U.S. coach Jurgen Klinsmann said on Monday that forward Jozy Altidore had been with the team "two, three days" but added that it's difficult to say how many minutes are in him.
"We don't know how much [he can play] ... but he's available," Klinsmann said during a news conference in Salvador. "It's now difficult to say how many minutes."

Re: World Cup 2014
Germany-Algeria game is getting interesting
Re: World Cup 2014
We still have the two 15 minute overtime periods to go, but for some reason this game (Argentina/Switzerland) has felt for a little while like it's just going to go to penalties.
Re: World Cup 2014
When is a 4-3-3 not a 4-3-3?
Kilnsmann is hilarious with some of the stuff he puts out in the media and even with the stuff he's required to submit (like our starting 11 an hour before kickoff).
What is our lineup? a 4-6-0? A 4-5-1? I'm not really sure what it is but a can guarantee it won't function as a 4-3-3.

USA USA USA
Cameron in for Beckerman. Im guessing will see Fab Johnson making more forward runs and them interchanging quite often

Re: World Cup 2014
Beasley isn't technically sound enough to run attacks through

Re: World Cup 2014
What a sloppy start giving away the ball mid-field.
Re: World Cup 2014
Very shaky start, hope we settle in.
Re: World Cup 2014
So Beasley is playing left midfield? Okie doke
Re: World Cup 2014
We're the kings of the professional foul right now. Probably pick up our first yellow before the 25' or so
Re: World Cup 2014
Lol it took three minutesSCCat wrote:We're the kings of the professional foul right now. Probably pick up our first yellow before the 25' or so
Re: World Cup 2014
bradley still has an inability to complete a pass to his own team
Re: World Cup 2014
Oh so close , twice , inside of one minute .
We're picking up the pace, good.

Re: World Cup 2014
I'm very frustrated that we're trying to play through Beasley so much (at all).
Re: World Cup 2014
Crap Fabian looks like he's out.
Well those that wanted to see more Yedlin are going to get their chance

Re: World Cup 2014
That early Fabian sub also probably drops the chances of seeing Altidore from 5% to 0%.

Re: World Cup 2014
I like Yedlin
Re: World Cup 2014
It seems like he's already shown more technical skill on the wing in two minutes than Beasley has in his careerMain Event wrote:I like Yedlin
Re: World Cup 2014
Yeah I would definitely keep attacking on Yedlin's side
Re: World Cup 2014
USA looking solid so far. They don't look outmatched at all at this point.
Love the 've! Stop with the: Would of - Could of - Should of - Must of - Might of
Re: World Cup 2014
Belgium is getting a little bit frustrated...I like it
Re: World Cup 2014
Haha Vertonghen doesn't want to have anything to do with Yedlin
Re: World Cup 2014
First 15 minutes kinda sucked.
Next 15 minutes were interesting back and forth.
Last 15 minutes held some very interesting US attacks and some Belgium frustration.

Re: World Cup 2014
Bradley's been much better. Jones has had a couple good defensive moments but other than that he's off his game. Yedlin is electric. Dempsey hasn't been great. I feel like we miss Beckerman a lot. Beasley has had a great tournament.
We're really going to miss Johnson. I feel our best chance at scoring was the move JK used the last couple games with Yedlin coming in above Johnson and have both attack.

Re: World Cup 2014
Key Stat - Time of Possession 53% USA
They must continue that the rest of the game. Doing so will frustrate Belgium even further.

Re: World Cup 2014
This was going to be a tough game for Jones because he's so slow compared to the other team
Re: World Cup 2014
Yeldin is just feeling it. I see a long term RB. He just not fast, he has strength to push people off the ball. It is what beasley really lacked his whole career.

Re: World Cup 2014
Cameron's position is less than Beckerman's position. It is causing Jones to have to move so much.Although Cameron brings height and strength that we seem to need in set pieces.MrBug708 wrote:This was going to be a tough game for Jones because he's so slow compared to the other team

How are we looking?
In clinic, can't get away to watch.

Not bad. Better than Germany but not like Portugal. Bradley still lacking some passing, but overall you have to be happy.CalStateTempe wrote:How are we looking?

Re: World Cup 2014
Bradley's been much better this game. A couple passes were off but he's had some good ones, too, especially feeding Yedlin the ball with the long pass.
