UCLA isn't allowing fans right now, so I'm guessing they don't want to miss a payday if they can't help it.
Or they don’t want to play a team that can beat them without a home crowd.
Looks really bad when everyone knows you have to make up conference games and you slot a cupcake instead.
UCLA doesn't schedule PAC-12 games.
Doesn't really matter. They do coordinate with league so to say they are not part of any scheduling decisions is just plausible deniability.
And it appears on the surface - since both teams need to make up their game at some point and they are both available to play now - that Mickey & Co. are dodging us.
You can spin it any old way you want but it looks like the big, bad Bruins are really just a bunch of pussies.
That story does help sell subscriptions on message board, that's for sure

Conference should be working on a big Monday package for all these make up games across the landscape of the conference. Get FS1 on board and have a 6pm and 8pm game. Make Lemonade out of lemons

I notice you didn’t say “UCLA has no control over the scheduling of PAC-12 games”, which is good, because that would have been a lie.
Id much rather play Arizona on two days notice. No reason to not play them now. My guess is the conference wants the TV revenue and there wasn't a way to get it primetime.
I’m guessing you mean primetime on ESPN or FS1, right? Because that LBSU game is at 7:30 EST on PAC-12 network.

Would certainly be nice. Though I don't get FS1 and I hate having to hunt it down.

Well, since this board runs on donations and not subscriptions I expect you, as a representative of those chicken little Bruins, to donate to the cause.

Same here. I have Sling with the Sports Package and no FS1.
And it's really hard to find FS1 streams.

The thing I find telling about UCLA's intentions is that UCLA was the first team to jump on that free forfeit win earlier in the season when UW couldn't play but once the rules change they are all about ducking conference competition.

Nobody else was willing (or able) to play on Thursday in Pauley.

It was a Pac 12 rule. The Pac 12 stated that any conference game missed, after the first conference game, due to Covid would be a forfeit for the team unable to play. It probably would have been easier to makeup if UW wanted to come play in Pauley. UCLA didn’t want to reschedule a trip to Seattle to play a meaningless road game that wouldn’t help their resume or benefit UCLA financially. They aren't traveling to the state otherwise. Why would Cronin accommodate anyone in the PAC-12 office when they forced UCLA to give up their game in Pauley vs Oregon last year and instead travel to Eugene to play? Nobody cared then, I expect nobody cares now, despite "sources" saying nobody else is helping UCLA.
Now the rule is the Pac-12 is going to make every effort to reschedule games and Pac-12 teams are expected to cooperate, with the commissioner given the unilateral right to declare a forfeit if he felt one of the teams was not exhibiting "sportsmanship" (i.e., cooperation) in rescheduling a game. Translation, the league will dictate rescheduled games (just like last season) and you won't see any more forfeits even if a game doesn't get rescheduled.
But let's just go with UCLA is trying to duck Washington. That makes for a a far juicer fan conspiracy theory.

Well done Bug.
Next time I'm back in Westwood I will buy you a sandwich at Fat Sal's.
I've donated to the board a few times, do I get something?
Of course...

There is no conspiracy, UCLA is clearly willing to take any action they can to turn the cards in their favor at the detriment of other teams.

In basketball terms, that's usually called a fast break.

They found a team to come to Pauley to play. My guess is to shake some rust off and see how the lungs are after the COVID outbreak. Probably just wanted to get back to action

Sounds more like an exhibition game to me. Shouldn't count.

It probably is better for UCLA if it doesn't count. No fans, not a good team, probably hurts us more than anything, but they were willing to "travel".

And UCLA loses its PG. Looks similar to what Cody Riley did earlier this year. Best case is out for 2-4 weeks.
Oo...came back to the bench. That's a good sign

Not ideal. Mick was pretty candid in his thoughts about it too, citing the national championship game yesterday having 75,000 fans.

Bruins are 9-2 or 10-2?
Are they counting the second win over The Beach?
I think it's being counted. Probably better of it wasn't. Was hoping that game would kick start the team but everyone is ice cold right now.
So weird that playing Long Beach State twice isn't helping this team....

The NCAA website has UCLA listed at 8-1 and us at 12-1. It looks to me that they haven't updated from last night's games and they're not counting the 2nd LBST game.
