gotta love the pac 12 network that no one has! gone are the days of the pac 12 title game being on cbs..now it's relegated to pac 12 network where even an arizona/ucla final doesn't even get 1.4 million viewers. and notice no pac 12 network games on the top 10 of most watched pac 12 games. thanks larry scott! (he better change his attitude about arizona since it's obvious (8 of the top 9 most watched pac 12 games involved arizona) that we are keeping the conference alive right now).

arizona is single handedly keeping the pac 12 alive basketball wise. if it wasn't for us, the conference would average 5000 people per game and about 3000 people at pac 12 tournament games and our games would be tape delayed pay per view or internet stream only.

Where's the source? These must be peak ratings because I doubt 2.6 million tuned in at the start to watch SDSU @ KU, or even at the start of the second half, but I can see everyone tuning in near the end to watch KU lose.

The conference championship game was on Fox Sports 1, not the Pac-12 Network. Either way unless it's on ESPN or CBS it's not going to get much viewership.

yeah my bad. but i'm pretty darn sure that all of the highest rated games are always going to be espn/espn2/cbs and not fs1/pac 12/big 10 type games. just more eyeballs.

in general though, the viewership of college basketball is alarming. the sport's popularity overall has nearly been halved from what it was about 20 years ago. big time conference title games or ooc games are barely even getting 1/3 to 1/2 the ratings of some thursday night nfl network bills/buccaneers type of game.

Nah. As long as College Football remains a highly viewed strong product then college basketball will always be tied at the hip with them. Think of it like Cable companies and how networks are packaged with other networks. If you want the History channel you have to carry this and this and this channel too even though you'll never watch them. You aren't getting the college football product unless you carry the college basketball product too. Plus most games are on the ESPN Networks and other smaller sports networks who need the content at that time of year. College basketball will always be on television. Plus you're comparing college basketball viewership to what else is on television at the time and not other sporting events that are on at different times.
