When we went to LA 97cats recommended this place http://www.wurstkuche.com/ . The best bratwurst I've had since I got back from Germany in 1986.

You by the pier? Rock n Fish is good. Shellback is a fun bar but not for food, and I haven't been to the new one in Manhattan but Sharkeys is always a good time and decent bar food.
