We play Miami, and match up with the UCSB/OSU game.azcat49 wrote:Geez with all these upsets do we have any idea who we will be pitted against in our pod?
Luck of the draw, luck of the draw...Chicat wrote:So we've been historically lucky and they have been historically unlucky?
I guess karma does exist.....

Other pod will have TxTech, UF/FSU, Coastal/LSU, and aTm/TCU. Gonna be 8 great teams, not really sure there's a good/bad bracket this year. I think I have slight preference to ours.azcat49 wrote:Thx. No idea on the other side but that seems like a tough bracket. I would also assume they placed us as a 4 seed given Miami is the national 3 seed and a clear #1 in that pod.
Okie St looks really good and both those other teams come in red hot. Too bad the committee couldn't or wouldn't put the 2 western teams in opposite brackets.
Yes 49, starting out in the winners bracket is huge. So that first game is a biggie.azcat49 wrote:Thx for that. Hopefully Bannister gets a lot of rest and comes out strong against the canes. That first game is so, so important
If Schlereth wasn't hurt and was able to pitch in that series, The Cats would of won it.ASUHATER! wrote:We need revenge against Miami for that 2008 super regional
The Cats were not ranked when they got to the 2012 World Series and they beat #3Florida State in their first game. Then they beat #2UCLA and Florida State again to get to the championship round. Rankings don't really mean much, the Cats are playing their best ball and I doubt they don't care who they play.azcat49 wrote:Thx. No idea on the other side but that seems like a tough bracket. Not sure if it is the reason, but I know sometimes teams don't bid for regionals but will if they make the supers. Used to be you could see a 1 seed go to a 2 seed in the regional because the 1 seed didn't want to bid/lose money on a regional. We did that once right before HiC, where we were going to bid on a Super if we made it but passed on the region and got shipped as the #1. So maybe to make sure the best teams get the Super Regional, but not a host that was a lesser seed, but I am not sure. Even then, you could still make the non hosting #1 a super seed in case they get to the supers.ChooChooCat wrote:Random question but why does baseball only have 8 national seeds and softball has 16?? the tournament is set up the exact same way outside of that and I don't understand why.

So what are we saying? - That it's going to be 117 in Tucson on Sunday, but it's only going to feel like 107?ASUHATER! wrote:117 in TucsonSage&Silver wrote:Omaha heat index for Sunday: 118
