Adding weight easier than adding speed.Newportcat wrote:I was wondering when we were going to land a typical Rich Rod 5'9 160 lbs receiver with great speed. Rich Rod loves those types of WR's/RB's.
Guy looks really athletic from his HUDL video but will need to put on some weight
Armwood High School is the real deal. They've won three 6A state championships in the past 15 years and during that span have produced a lot of college level talent to include a good share of Gators and Hurricanes. A buddy of mine played HS football there and said the practice sidelines were a constant carousel of top assistants from everywhere - Penn State, Tennessee, Iowa, Wisconsin, Kentucky, etc.azcat49 wrote:I know they are trying to make sure every one of these kids that can enroll in December does so they don't have to greyshirt anybody. I have no idea how many slots they have open and it sure looks like this class will be going over 25.
I like the video of this last kid. Dude has speed and great moves. Not sure if he is playing at the highest level of Florida football but all over that state it's pretty good football. His offer list is pretty impressive as well.

According to my uneducated math, feel free to correct me if you see any errors.
+ 20 signings last year
+ 4 grey shirts (Walker, Nunley, Parks and Sherman)
- 1 grey shirt (Halimon)
- 1 never enrolled (Britt)
- 2 Early Enrollees (Tate and Neves)
= 20 2015 scholarships
So according to that calculation we can go up to 29 signings this year plus Halimon (Greyshirt) as longs as five enroll in the spring.
Britt is also a grey shirt.gronk4heisman wrote:MrBug708 wrote:Were you three short last year?

I thought I read that Britt's condition worsened and he has since walked away from football.ChooChooCat wrote:Britt is also a grey shirt.gronk4heisman wrote:MrBug708 wrote:Were you three short last year?

Cool. Thanks for that. I know I have rose colored glasses on but this class is beyond anything fans would have predicted from this team before RR made the coaching changes. I understand being critical but I don't think we are not pulling more 4 and 5* due to a lack of trying. I think most of those kids are front-runners and just want to be on the best, most prestigious team they can. There are exceptions with those men with the confidence that they'll go to the league regardless and want to play for a coaching staff they connect with. BeardownPuerco wrote:Fair enough. It has indeed far surpassed my expectations. Hopefeully our classes continue to do that year on year.UALoco wrote:Cool. Thanks for that. Well we still have a shot. If we can get him in for an official visit you never know what might happenMrBug708 wrote:I think hejust named Miami a leaderazcat49 wrote:Watch out for a 4 star DE with initials DJ. Great offer list and I think AZ has a good shot at him

I definitely don't doubt you, but he hasn't visited Arizona since March. Probably linking him up with Rhedi Short or something to come to that conclusion, who knows?MrBug708 wrote:Every fan base thinks he's flipping to them after a visit. And that means DJ won't come(will go to Miami?) or no way that 5 star guy would be a silent. I have no inside on any of this like you Chief, just hoping. Always cryptic you are Chief.chiefzona wrote:azcat49 wrote:Deonte Johnson. Hoping that 5 star receiver is a silent to us
That kid's offer list is huge.azcat49 wrote:Deonte Johnson. Hoping that 5 star receiver is a silent to us
DJ most likely goes to Miami but things can always change. I hear ya about the hope. Were you thinking Lewis is a silent commit?azcat49 wrote:And that means DJ won't come(will go to Miami?) or no way that 5 star guy would be a silent. If you have something to say do so

This article is incredibly optimistic, but I would take us finishing up our class with the names Gabe mentioned in a heartbeat.ANGCatFan wrote:Good summation of who we are targeting from SB Nation.
All but 5 schools would be happy with those kids. I think dc isn't that optimistic about Arizona football. There are some good names on that list.gronk4heisman wrote:This article is incredibly optimistic, but I would take us finishing up our class with the names Gabe mentioned in a heartbeat.ANGCatFan wrote:Good summation of who we are targeting from SB Nation.
At least one fan base is going to be right. Is he one of the "big recruits" on campus this weekend?MrBug708 wrote:Every fan base thinks he's flipping to them after a visit. Washington, USC, Notre Dame, and now an Arizona guy. He's not exactly a lock to ucla but the kid loves recruiting
What's the story of this Washington reporter?MrBug708 wrote:Yup. He liked the game and got burned. That reporter from UW really burned him badly and UCLA coaches weren't too happy with it. I think the staff goes after DJ now that they have an opening at DE again.
We'll gladly take him if we end up being his final choice. We need guys like Echols, but hopefully more weary of reportersMrBug708 wrote:Private convo talking about his commitment status, He's always been committed to UCLA, but open to all schools and lets it known. The reported screenshotted his text convo with Echols to say that he really was decommitmented. Once that hit, the UCLA coaches weren't none to pleased and Echols tried to do damage control. Now he's open and I'm not sure UCLA coaches are that interested in spending too much time recruiting him. It's Echols own fault for enjoying the recruiting too much, but Lars was more interested in proving he had a scoop than he did with the kids actually recruit. It happens. I'd expect this will likely go to signing day.
Cathedral kids are pretty flakey though, so who knows
