The Mercator Projection map betrays a planetary perceptual bias we have internalized. You can search for and select a state, country, island, etc., anywhere on the globe and drag it to anywhere on the map to see its true land area size.

Worth posting today - a few days ago I came across the Black Friday Archive, “home to a collection of over 1,300 Black Friday sale ads from the past 20 years as well as a quarter million historical Black Friday message board posts.”

Little Free Library
For those who've ever used sidewalk libraries, this website maps them all out, hosts programs on how to start sidewalk libraries, and sells kits for building one in your neighborhood.
I never pass one by without taking a peek, and it's a good way to surprise yourself with books you'd never otherwise find. Have also left a number of books in sidewalk libraries when passing through other cities.

My wife's altruistic club wants to sponsor one of those free little libraries. The hardest part by far is just finding a spot. Just can't plant on on your sidewalk.
