I would guess that we had 150-200 in the corner of the lower bowl.
The TTech Baylor game before ours had maybe 1/3rd of the lower bowl full before the Kansas fans showed up.
So much for the Great Big12 fans.

I’m so glad you found each other.
Now please show Yormark how those fans will suddenly magically get better in Las Vegas.
I mean, that’s where I want the tourney too, but you’re going to have to convince him that the Bad Fans will become Good Fans when they get to Sin City.

i was surprised that tommy didn't keep ADO on a shorter leash too. i mean, we know why he has to play dell'orso but i thought tommy wanted him to be more of a catch and shoot guy. there were a few times when ADO tried to drive and create, and it's like... please stop dribbling.g32knights wrote: Fri Mar 14, 2025 5:59 am I liked seeing Tommy pull KJ. An ex-coworker/friend was in charge of accounting at both the Grand Garden and then at T-Mobile. He didn't care who won the championship but they sure wanted Arizona in the championship game for all the F&B revenue a full arena would bring in, as opposed to a half full arena, maybe a little more, with two non-UofA teams.

Now that attendance will be shit it proves there is no reason to not move to Vegas ASAP
Lower level tickets are dirt cheap today in KC. It is fucking pathetic
KC is Vegas except they have ISU and KU and not nearly as much to do and worse rooms and less money

Personally, I'd love for it to be here in Vegas. But if Arizona isn't a 1-4 seed and loses in the first round, good chance the rest of the games will be played in a half full arena. When the contract expires, then maybe they can rotate the tournament to different cities. The conference goes from almost coast to coast so maybe the tourney will too at some point.AZCatGirl wrote: Fri Mar 14, 2025 2:33 pm I don't get this Vegas obsession. Whatever happened to Arizona fans like UAdevil going anywhere to watch us play and turning that place into McKale… whatever?
Sounds like certain posters are scared of not having the conference tourney in their backyard. Weak…

Re: Tommy Lloyd
^Like that idea of rotating it. Reminds me of when the PAC rotated their tourney. No place sold out like McKale did.
I know I am in the minority, but in truth I would rather go to KC or someplace I have never been before instead of Vegas. Every time I go to Vegas I think that's the last time I am going there. Nothing against it, but I don't gamble, have nothing against gambling, just never had any extra money to lose doing it. I did like the $2 blackjack tables though. Could play a long time. Don't go to shows for the same reason, very expensive. Other than that, LV is just a hot dusty desert city in summer, and a cold windy desert city in the winter.
Not like the old days when you could get a prime rib buffet dinner for $4.99.
PAC tourney total attendance:
Year (Seed) Champion (Title #) Total Attendance
2021 (5) Oregon State (1st) N/A^
2022 (1) #2 Arizona (8th) 66,201
2023 (2) #8 Arizona (9th) 65,721
2024 (4) Oregon (6th) 76,101

Honestly the rotation idea sounds like the best idea yet. Nice chance to visit other Big 12 cities. This isn't the Pac 12 where no one but us gives a shit about basketball.

i figured arizona fans favored vegas because the tournament basically becomes home(ish) games for us, and out of kc to blunt ku's advantages in the future. a rotation would be great, but yeah, then you'd get places like tulsa and des moines bidding on the event. denver, austin, dallas, kc, vegas would be nice easy-to-travel-to locations sorta central to the big12 schools but dunno if they're interested in hosting a conf tournament. st louis would likely bite, though i'm ambivalent about having a tournament there
Re: Tommy Lloyd
Oh hey look, tangible answers. Not just knee jerk emotion-posts about how it MUST be in Vegas next year.
I’d throw Chicago in the mix. Closer to ISU, WVU, Cincy. And there are a butt load of KU alums here so they’d be cool with it.

Re: Tommy Lloyd
Tommy did a great job. Pulled KJ again early when he was out of control. Maybe he sits too long waiting for the first media time out and comes out over hyped. Just crazy ball of energy and not in a good way.
Back to Tommy, he was definitely in Love’s ear telling him not to take bad shots. Can’t believe he said it to ESPN during half time interview.
Considering the foul situation, coach managed the rotations very well. If you told me Awaka only played 8 mins and we won, I wouldn’t have believed it.
