We had a friend in Tucson that moved to Phoenix when all the spring training left Tucson. She sold her business and just left town.

Haha, classic!
I'm an Angels fan so getting ready for another brutal year and questions of what could have been with Trout (and the departed Ohtani!)
Re: 2025 MLB Season
Must have been a great and frustrating time to be an Angels fan. It seemed like the headlines were always "Trout and/or Ohtani do something that hasn't been done for 50 years and the Angels lose 6-3."
Re: 2025 MLB Season
Yea it was for sure - watching Trout and then Ohtani play made it bearable to watch the season as the years dragged on.gouacats wrote: Thu Feb 27, 2025 3:06 pmMust have been a great and frustrating time to be an Angels fan. I started following them when I moved out to OC from Tucson in 07 so they've went from pretty good consistent playoff team to can't get out of their own way! And the fact Moreno is a UA alum makes it sting even more, since its pretty clear he is the meddler in the organization.
Kind of was hoping he'd sell a few years back and get some new life injected in but doesn't look like that will happen.
Re: 2025 MLB Season
Tucson got out of Spring Training before it was going to price itself out of Tucson anyway.
In two weeks four of us are going the Spring Training game between the Padres and Giants at Scottsdale Stadium near Old Town. I paid $35/ticket for seats on the LAWN for a TUESDAY night game. And that's not including the processing fees. $140 dollars for a Spring Training game when I remember watching the Rockies back in 2008 for like $7.
Didn't want to fuss about Spring Training costs because it's pointless while most everything else is also getting overpriced, until I saw a few others pointing it out:

Costco has a great deal for spring training tickets...$29.00 for 2, and we had great seats..parking was free. We brought our own snacks and water.

Interesting if true.

Although Ohtani did it without the assistance of nicotine and alcohol.

AN AMAZING BABE RUTH QUOTE "Sometimes when I reflect on all the beer I drink, I feel ashamed. Then I look into the glass and think about the workers in the brewery and all of their hopes and dreams. If didn't drink this beer, they might be out of work and their 4 dreams would be shattered. think, 'It is better to drink this beer and let their dreams come true than be selfish and worry about my liver."

Dodgers are lower than NY because they have so much long term debt, haha.

I will take that long term debt for more championships. Otherwise, they will be fucked.

Didn’t work out too terrible last year!
Of the 12 coaches, Rush picked the one whose fans have the deepest passion, the longest memories, the greatest lung capacity and … did I mention deep passion?
