I don't watch much NBA, but is there a demand for a 6'11 center whose hands of stone don't allow him to catch an entry pass into the post and when he does can't create a shot for himself unless completely unguarded, but can rebound well?
"Arizona got uppercutted out of the 2018 tournament by No. 13 Buffalo, which delivered one of the most overwhelming, lopsided upsets by a double-digit seed in tournament history (89-68). "

I don't know how Cole Aldrich is doing these days, to be honest.

Probably when we play Gonzaga and we need to counter a Karnowski/Sabonis combo.
Cal has multiple bigs too.
They do?

Don't know about Aldrich, but Sasha Kaun is almost scoring 10ppg and 5 boards a game in Russia.

That's pretty good, since he plays for the Cavaliers in the NBA.

So far, he's racking up 37 minutes...this season!

Just for fun, here's the most up to date Cole Aldrich info. Allegedly he is involved with the Clippers, although not really playing for them. I like how it says that he "reached" the NBA finals as a member of the Thunder. In the same way the team mascot reached the finals.

Speaking of draft busts, this has to be one of the worst NBA draft picks at #2 in draft history?

I mean no more disappointing than this #3 pick

http://espn.go.com/nba/player/_/id/454/raef-lafrentz" target="_blank

Or this #5 pick

http://espn.go.com/nba/player/_/id/6618/thomas-robinson" target="_blank

Should I really go into more of your lottery picks? Julian Wright, Brandon Rush, Ben McLemore, Kelly Oubre? You guys are very proficient at developing your players for NBA success.

Raef blew out both knees in the day where these types of injuries were career ending.

I'm sure he doesn't care, as he made about $8.5M in four years.

That's funny, the guy you slammed that started this back and forth made about $20 million in four years. So what was your point again?

Damn, enfuego getting his shit ripped apart worse than what Joel Embiid does to an all-you-can-eat buffet.

Julian Wright is so set for life that he's playing for three overseas teams in a single calendar year. If it is for the love of the game, you wonder why he had his contract terminated by one.

The real question is if Joel Embiid will ever play an NBA game. Kansas fans should never make statements about draft busts. KU has a long history of draft busts.

Ha! My original point was that I doubt Tarczewski has an NBA contract in his future. He's no Cole Aldrich.

And if he doesn't, this somehow elevates Kansas in your eyes?

Wouldn't surprise me if you doubted McConnell would get an NBA contract either.

You can bump his posts from last year. He was pretty clear that other than SJ and maybe RHJ, no one else was making it.

Interesting...

I went looking for news this morning to see if I should include him in RAP, and I didn't find anything outside of an article from a little over a week ago stating that 6-8 weeks had become "indefinitely" (which definitely worried me). Good to hear he's progressing. Now to get back into game shape....

Cliff Alexander. A real comer. Unique skill set.
Just one year before, Alexander was a top-five recruit, ranked ahead of top draft picks Karl-Anthony Towns and D'Angelo Russell by every major scouting service. Since Rivals.com began covering basketball in 2004, Tennessee's Scotty Hopson has been the only other top-five recruit to go undrafted.

I wasn't dissing either. Somebody who I can't bother checking who mentioned Baynes and I was curious as to why he wasn't on the Australian list.

I explicitly mentioned that I wasn't including Bogut. His only problem is that he is constantly injured.

Yeah. Gotta think "big picture" here. Even if he helped us defeat any of these first three Pac opponents, the wins would be greatly devalued if Zeus came back early and re-injured himself.

I'm fine with resting him for most of January, if necessary.

I want a win vs ASU. Everything else is gravy. If Caleb can go 5 minutes and help us get rebounds vs ASU, I want him in there.

I hope I never wind up so butthurt 4 years after a HS senior chooses a different college that I have to constantly check sites that don't regularly do nba draft projections in order to attempt to troll an opposing fan base.

Here's a site that is based in draft predictions that has Zeus drafted despite the injury costing him 10 spots.

Here's KU's center lineage lately:

Sasha Kaun-not playing in the nba.
Cole Aldrich-not playing in the nba.
Jeff Withey-benchwarmer in the nba! Thank you, Rudy Gobert's season ending injury for the roster spot!
Joel Embiid-not playing in the nba.
Cliff Alexander-not playing in the nba.

It's the place to be for big men.

Watching Tarczewski operate in the post (UA vs ASU game) is harder to watch than an NFL offensive lineman try an olympic routine on the balance beam. I've seen zero improvement in his offensive game in his 7 years of college ball.

8 points 5 rebounds and a block in limited minutes while still not completely healthy.

Is it harder to watch than your favorite team getting constantly upset early in the NCAA tourney?

For Kaleb to make it in the NBA as a role player, he's gonna have to come in and rebound, play great defense, and slow the other bigs down for awhile. But not sure if that's enough; his hands are still stone with limited offensive ability. But he is big as they come, good overall basketball awareness, hard to tell with him. If I had to guess I'd say he won't stick, but would love to be proved wrong if he develops further.

Still better than all the KU centers during that time put together.

I mean I love having Kaleb on our team, he's a fine college basketball player, Miller trusts him, and we're definitely better off with him, especially as the PAC-12 season wears on and we go into the tournament. Helps that he's a good free throw shooter too as a big. He also is a big factor in our wear down strategy...takes alot of our opponents energy to guard him, Dusan, and Anderson down low along with everybody else who crashes the boards.
