I am sick and fucking tired of Miller's unwillingness to make crucial changes such as playing zone.
I am close to done with Miller, don't care, lost my support.

The sad thing is I dont think it would help. Maybe we can bring back Kadeem or Rondae and give them Dylan Smith's jersey.SCCats wrote:I'm willing to try it.Postmaster wrote:More chance of Arizona using the rare 6 player defense.Captain Obvious wrote:A zone might be the only defense this team can play. Risky but worth a shot.
And yes I mean trying to get six guys on the floor.

They care. But they're paralyzed when they need to flow and they're rushing it when they need to be patient. I think he's got them freaked out.Merkin wrote:How embarrassing for Miller. His players don't even care.

Re: Game 8, at UNLV (2017-2018)
12 seconds left
Give ball to 2-guard
Dribble until 2 seconds left
Take a bad 3
Even if you get rebound, won't have time for a second shot
Possible top three draft pick? Don't give him ball

Debating if I should watch the 2nd half or just keep watching the UFC fights.
Re: Game 8, at UNLV (2017-2018)
Is this Ben Howland 2.0? ( The team maybe sick of the coach)
may the Bear Be Down!
Re: Game 8, at UNLV (2017-2018)
Ristic has 2 rebounds. So does Barcello. Please tell me again why we need to play two 7 footers?

Re: Game 8, at UNLV (2017-2018)
I'd settle for getting bob Elliot into somebody's uniform and getting him to play
Re: Game 8, at UNLV (2017-2018)
No chemistry. These guys don't know how to play together. This is weird considering they had the extra practice time from the Euro trip. Guard play is horrible. There is no one to take control when things break down.

Re: Game 8, at UNLV (2017-2018)
I'd go small and Play:
PJC
Barcello/Randolph
Trier
Lee/Pinder
Ayton
Maybe even just let Akot try to play? Can he be much worse?

Re: Game 8, at UNLV (2017-2018)
Even the broadcaster is saying Ristic can't play with Ayton. He said Pinder would be a better option. Get him out of there!
Re: Game 8, at UNLV (2017-2018)
If this is paralysis, this is the softest team I have ever seen. Its just the wrong group of guys. The three upperclassmen are career defensive liabilities, or close, and none of them have a leadership bone in their bodies. I didnt include Pinder, because he's a guy who should be never getting minutes on an Arizona roster unless we are in severe foul trouble or have multiple injuries. Add the Alkins injury, and a handful of freshmen (and Smith, who plays like one) who were all thrown into prominent roles and dont have real vets to pick up the slack/lead, and here we are.dovecanyoncat wrote:They care. Ayton is one of the best players in the country. He is the only reason this season has any hope right now.

Our switches are so fucked up we end up with 2 defenders on one ball handler.

Oh my God get Ristic of the floor. I dont care if we play 4 guys. He is horrible. Miller threatens to bench people with no effort but Ristic somehow plays all game....this is pathetic.
Re: Game 8, at UNLV (2017-2018)
Excellent summary of our problems. The one and done nature of our program has finally caught up to us......coupled with the lack of a point guardrgdeuce wrote:If this is paralysis, this is the softest team I have ever seen. So theyre soft. Boo hoo, you lost a coach u loved. And he loved u too, so much he intended to exploit you and your fanilies.Merkin wrote:

Unreal how bad this team is. I guess the only bright spot is that I imagine worrying about Miller to N.C. is not a thing anymore....is it?
Re: Game 8, at UNLV (2017-2018)
Too many three point shots. that's not our game.

Re: Game 8, at UNLV (2017-2018)
Then the Packline defense coupled with Miller's recruiting is not a durable combination in the one and done environment when each year we lose 60% of our team and end up with the upperclassmen we have now.dmjcat wrote:Excellent summary of our problems. Trier sounds awful on radio. Has he done anything in this game. He isn't even good enough to be a starter right now.
Re: Game 8, at UNLV (2017-2018)
They really play so much better with Ristic off the floor and Randolph in.

Trier 0-5 on 3 point shots. Don't remember any of them being really good shots, unlike the 2 wide open ones Barcello missed.

Homer call, 4 point swing due to it.
Re: Game 8, at UNLV (2017-2018)
By my count, 14 of their first 19 made field goals came off layup, dunks, or tip ins.
Edit: looks like theyve added a few more

This is a fucking embarrassment. We're going to get killed on Tuesday.
“The reality is that the hardest games to win are over teams on their home court. Teams that don’t play those games can spin it however they want, but what they’re saying is, ‘We don’t want to lose in our non conference season.’" - Sean Miller
Re: Game 8, at UNLV (2017-2018)
And right on cue our senior PG has two back to back bone-headed plays
Re: Game 8, at UNLV (2017-2018)
This team is bad, real bad. No chemistry, no flow. Bad shooting. Bad D. Alkins will help but will not turn this into a final 4 team. They are athletic, just not good basketball players. It is such a shame to see that Ayton will waste a year in Tucson..he is a once in a generation player. This, along with the FBI investigation, should turn any half decent recruits away. Miller might have the be let go.

Get Barcello back in. I'd rather lose and get the freshmen some experience than lose and watch Ristic and PJC continue to suck

Dusan plays better when he is the only big man
Thought this back when he and Tark played together

I do want to see how Miller recruits going forward without Book. Has our past
recruiting been real or did we just $pay$ more than the other guy?

Ristic much better with Ayton out.
