It's long past time to bring this back to the court, let's do it with a small update:
Re: (M) Game 8, Arizona vs Penn (2019-2020)
12 point favorites. I would assume they slow it down. Have to check the total number. I think we play well. 9:30 tip, hate the late starts. What is this, football

So if we win, do we play at 10pm on Sunday?

Yeah they are early in the 2nd half of the Pepperdine game now.

I hope our game is as boring as this Ok St./Ole Miss game.

College basketball needs a mercy rule like softball has. Just an awful terrible game in front on no one.

Why is Jeter still starting?

I'm 100% okay if Penn wants to just start chucking 3s.

That guy Broder looking to grad transfer? We could use someone like him haha
Re: (M) Game 8, Arizona vs Penn (2019-2020)
So Pepperdine lost to UCF 78-65. Just crazy. We must have worn them out. Right now we look bigger, more physical and much quicker than Penn

Jeter taking advantage of the double team on Zeke.
Arizona State might have the most surprisingly anemic history in men's basketball of any program that you might think is better than it is.

He is also letting Brodeur blow past him on defense. So you tell me what is better, leading in points or surrendering just as many? There is a reason why Lee was out there for a lot of the first half.pc in NM wrote:He’s leading the team in points, is 4-4 and leads in rebounds...WildcatStunner wrote:Jeter out there yucking it up.

Chase is faster than Gettings, but not by a ton. Brodeur is 3 for 10, so we're not doing too bad on him in aggregate.WildcatStunner wrote:He is also letting Brodeur blow past him on defense. Re: (M) Game 8, Arizona vs Penn (2019-2020)
It’s just shocking how many catastrophic defensive breakdowns we have. I guess the upside is that they are brain problems more than body problems . . . so maybe this can be fixed?
Re: (M) Game 8, Arizona vs Penn (2019-2020)
I agree that he, and a few others on this team so far, has defensive liabilities...WildcatStunner wrote:He is also letting Brodeur blow past him on defense. When he blows past Jeter, other players have to help, this leads to opportunities for the other players on Penn. Brodeur leads his team in assists. Oh well.pc in NM wrote:I agree that he, and a few others on this team so far, has defensive liabilities...WildcatStunner wrote:He is also letting Brodeur blow past him on defense. Re: (M) Game 8, Arizona vs Penn (2019-2020)
Seems we've always been vulnerable to a drive across the top of the paint and down the far lane. Opponents seem to have a Stapley and we only occasionally have a Nick Johnson.

If we can't hedge on screens against Penn and Pepperdine without giving up easy buckets....what the hell kind of chance do we have of making that work against the Oregons/Gonzagas of the world??
I think Miller needs to rethink parts of his defense.

Yes, I would love to see Brodeur as a grad transfer. Penn is shit without him on the floor

The catastrophic breakdowns are frustrating and concerning. But they still only count for 2 points despite drawing lots of attention to themselves. But that means they are playing good D when they don’t throw a shoe.Frybry02 wrote:The out of position, lack of communication/anticipation, and easy buckets are concerning to meByJoveByJingle wrote:Which part is bothering you more . . .
