Addazio's offenses were right there with Tomey's in innovation.Spaceman Spiff wrote: Fri Jan 08, 2021 11:22 am Yeah, but they were only 17-21 the years Addazio and Brown were there, and the last year was 3-9. Obviously not all that is on Brown, but...I'm just not ready to be too optimistic.

I get that. Like I said, the lack of success is definitely not all on Brown.azgreg wrote: Fri Jan 08, 2021 11:27 amAddazio's offenses were right there with Tomey's in innovation.Spaceman Spiff wrote: Fri Jan 08, 2021 11:22 am Yeah, but they were only 17-21 the years Addazio and Brown were there, and the last year was 3-9. The only caveat I have is that Addazio being super conservative and a clock bleeder did do something to help the defensive stats just by a slow pace. Brown had that both at BC and UM, but I doubt he'll have that here.

Looks like we have a new strength coach.

I think the guy’s team is playing tonight, so we won’t find out until tomorrow at earliest.gronk4heisman wrote: Mon Jan 11, 2021 10:18 amAny word on who the actual hire is?Spaceman Spiff wrote: Mon Jan 11, 2021 8:40 amI'm not sure about that hire. Ronnie can barely walk nowadays.

I think anyone we get from Bama is a good thing. They are just on a different level let's face it.
Hope he can recruit too. Lol.

Definitely a good get, but how many teams have assistant strength coaches?
I believe you can have one head coach, and 9 assistant coaches. Is the SEC different?

It's probably not subject to those limits if he's not an on field coach.

Re: Assistant Coach Hotboard
I like this hire. Being part of the Alabama program will give him instant credibility amongst the players. If he was the assistant strength coach at New Mexico State it wouldn't carry the same pull.
Re: Assistant Coach Hotboard
I believe the NCAA now allows for 10 on field coaches. That was a change at the end of the RR era I believe. S&C is separate

Beautiful
Of the 12 coaches, Rush picked the one whose fans have the deepest passion, the longest memories, the greatest lung capacity and … did I mention deep passion?
Re: Assistant Coach Hotboard
I heard it may be something like a liaison between the program and alumni and high schools.
Re: Assistant Coach Hotboard
BSanders, f that puts me all on board. Only Kelvin Eafon would get better for me

Sanders' new Twitter handle: the Brandolorean?
Re: Assistant Coach Hotboard
He’s been coaching Pueblo HS, IIRC.
Re: Assistant Coach Hotboard
I thought he was with the Sugar Skulls.
Re: Assistant Coach Hotboard
I was hopeful the newly created position would go to a former player.
Brandon Sanders?

Not looking like Joe Salave'a is under consideration for DC at Oregon.

Poo. I'd rather have had Salave'a than Brown, honestly.Coop Cat wrote: Sun Jan 17, 2021 12:33 pm Not looking like Joe Salave'a is under consideration for DC at Oregon.

Ummm why? If Oregon, the school he’s been coaching at for some time, doesn’t have faith in him as a playcaller on defense then why the hell would we?Spaceman Spiff wrote: Mon Jan 18, 2021 11:27 amPoo.
