Never would have worked with LeBron there. Would have been a nightmare for Hurley.
I disagree. LeBron won’t play forever and letting him construct the team in return for his open praise of the coaching job he is doing would have given Hurley the leeway to weather the coming post-Lebron rebuild.
I honestly think you’re a fool if you turn down the Lakers job whether LeBron is there or not.

A college coach turned down $12M a year from the Lakers to stay in Hartford and coach UCONN.
Good on him, but damn.
It's a blue blood program and arguably the top program in the country right now. I don't think Hurley's decision is as surprising as some are making it sound. Coach K turned down the Lakers as well. For similar reasons.

If the Knicks job opens up soon, that's the one I think Hurley will leave for.
The current Knick coach makes around $7M. That will increase when he resigns but it won't necessarily be a bump in salary that makes him change for a NBA type job. Maybe he wants something different but his coaching style won't play well with players making 4-5 times as much money as you are.

TC, Hurley has already made his intention to coach in the NBA very public. The Lakers are just a shit show, and he probably avoided an ice berg. When the right east coast job opens up, he'll have greater interest.

Who will be the next head coach at Indiana? Mike Woodson is not a good coach.
If there isn’t a For Sale sign up in front of his house, there should be one.

If Hubert Davis gets canned, do we need to worry about Tommy to UNC?

Just don’t see CTL having fun in Cajun land. Might be wrong but 5m a year seems to be enough
Normally for North Carolina I would always be concerned but with NIL who knows what the plum jobs are

Lute was all class. When I was a kid in Iowa, he was getting hassled when he and Bobbi went out. He appreciated that Tucson folks would leave them alone.
That’s why he came out here. Money wasn’t the issue, it was lifestyle.
My youngest is really good friends with Tommy’s daughter. They met during lunch break at CFHS. They became thick as thieves and got along like a house on fire.
She loves Tommy and from what I’ve heard he digs it here and there nowhere else he and his family want to be.
Tommy struck me as a lot like Few where when he likes a place he intends to stay there. I wouldn't be concerned unless some Miller type of fuckery happens again.
Also, now that Gonzaga is going to the Pac 12, it makes it a much less attractive job. lol

The only thing Tommy would have in common with coaching at Mathew Knight arena would be Dana Altman's bald spot.

Let’s hope that’s it, not the sweet tooth for rapists that Altman has.
On Lute living the lifestyle there, I recall someone, maybe Dick Vitale, sayng that there are only 2 college coaches in America where if they walk into a restaurant everyone stops talking. Lute Olson and Bobby Knight.

Mike Woodson is “retiring” at seasons end.
