First 3 days have kicked our butts. I've maybe clocked 10-12 hours of sleep since Tuesday morning. Wife even less. Definitely a much more colicky baby than our first by quite a bit. It's really nice being home with the whole family though even with the circumstances of my job looming over it all. Wouldn't trade this exhausting time for anything.
This second kid is likely to convert me to a full time coffee drinker after nothing else could for 38 years.

Our youngest baby was 10#. The twins weighed 13# so she grew unrestricted in a stretched out belly.

She slept through the night her first night home.

Tbh our almost 3 year old has never actually "slept through the night" either. But it was tolerable. The oldest daughter has a cold now too so she has been up coughing most of the night. I think last night I slept from about 8 to 9 pm. Been up since.

My oldest made his high school JV soccer team!

Super proud of the kid because he took on a new position (Goalie) a year ago and made a huge leap in skill and talent over the last six months. His Spring travel team won their league and postseason tourney and he was so good (shutouts in 7 games including two in the tourney, one being a 1-0 clean sheet in the final), but then he spent the summer getting his game and his body in even better shape for tryouts and it paid off.

I wanted this so bad for him. But even better, he wanted it so bad for himself. And he did it. I’m struggling to put into words just how proud I am of him.

My kid is barely 3 and I'm worried how much smarter she is than me already. You can read a book to her one time and a week later she will remember it word for word even though she can't actually read. Speaking of reading...she has most of the basic skills for pre reading down and I think she will be able to read before she's 4.

Also...she randomly described the water cycle (rain, clouds, evaporation whatever) perfectly to me yesterday out of nowhere with a like 5th grade science understanding. No clue where she got it from...

Tonight, my three-year-old, who is assuredly already smarter than me, had a banger. She was giving one of her standard monologues on any given topic she is interested in; in this case, animals and their sleep patterns. I decided to ask her where do fish sleep? Without hesitation, she said, "In the water, daddy."

What came next was one for the ages.

She said, "Daddy did you know fish fart in their sleep?". I go, "Uh, no?"

She then says, "Yeah, like this! And rips a massive fart."

I've never been so proud. The timing and essence of the entire build-up were magnificent.

Luckily for the community we never go out past 6pm for pretty much any reason. Also my oldest daughter is a fucking saint in public. She's better behaved and is kinder with better manners than any boomer I've ever dealt with. Didn't get that from me.

Ebs, I was thinking that Kelly would made a good running mate for Harris. He seemed to be an obvious choice and I'm thinking he might make a great President.

It looks pretty clear to me that something came up during the vetting process that made the Harris campaign back off. We pretty much all have skeletons in the closet, but sure wondering what it was for him.

I think if whatever it was didn't end up coming out, Harris likely would've won with him.

Care to share any insight?
